Ever wonder where the idea for Rachel’s creation of the vine cross came from? Well, Rachel Bertoni has designed a collection of jewelry based on nature. “My aim is to capture a moment. One that inspires people to think of a small yet special moment in their lives and be reminded of that special time while wearing one of my pieces.”
A few years ago Rachel created a collection of rings that many people started to use as wedding bands. One in particular she calls the vine ring. A young couple came to the store in Sugar Loaf and ordered two vine rings to be worn to represent their union together.
A few years later, a dear friend of theirs came to Rachel and asked if she could create a cross for the baptism of the new baby they were about to have. “I took the two vine rings and carved them into a single cross overlapping them to create the vine cross, one made from the two.” This friend then gave the cross to the newborn as a baptism gift that came from the parents rings. With this same sentiment, you can now have a vine cross with all good wishes and memories for the future.
