About Bertoni Gallery

Growing up with parents that are recognized by institutions such as the Smithsonian, it was no surprise when Rachel Bertoni’s own interests took a creative turn. She was always attracted to jewelry, ever since she was a child. Her aunt Irene, who used to babysit her, would pull out her beautiful jewelry box and enchant with stories of the origins of every piece. It was then that Rachel began to get a sense that a woman’s jewelry box was an important place filled with tokens that could transcend time.

The art and jewelry shown at the gallery is exhibited with this concept in mind, that works of art, be them on canvas or paper or cast in metal with semi-precious stones, are able to carry memories and stories with them over generations.
